Searching for a Machinist / Metal Fabricator, long-term opportunity.
Location: NORTH YORK (400 X Finch)
Shift timings: 7:00 pm – 4:00 pm (Monday – Friday) hours may vary
Responsibilities:
- Operation of snips, gauges, over-press templates, power nibblers, belt sanders, band saw, wire brushes, and other tools as needed
- Remove burrs from metal parts by using tools such as a power disc sander, rotary files, manual
- hand files, automatic tumbler machines, hand knives, and any other necessary power equipment or deburring tools
- Set up, adjust, and operate CNC equipment, Laser, and Water Jet Machine
- Use program conversion software and a nesting program to optimize material utilization
- Maintain material control and ensure accurate traceability
- Replace simple machine parts and use simple fixtures
- Responsible for assisting the department in the development of techniques to increase productivity, quality, and throughput of products and to share job knowledge in the department
- Maintain work area and equipment in a clean, orderly, FOD-free fashion and adhere to all Safety standards
